Freddy Deeb Narrowly Misses 3rd WPT Title

It was not third time lucky for Freddy Deeb as he could not claim his third WPT Legends of Poker title.


There were 786 poker players competing at the 2015 WPT Legends of Poker tournament and the title eventually went to Mike Shariati. It was a loss that could not be so easily digested by Freddy Deeb as he came very close to winning the title and had to miss out to Shariati who made a very good comeback to win it.

This was the $3,700 buy-in main event at the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker held at the Bicycle casino in California. The event was a thrilling and exciting one and Freddy was looking to get himself alongside Anthony Zinno, Gus Hansen, and Carlos Mortensen to win the WPT title three times. Phil Ivey and iTEAM Network introduces new DFS offering

iTEAM Network, based in Las Vegas, and poker pro Phil Ivey have declared that they are collaborating in launching a brand new daily fantasy sports product called – PhilIveyDFS that would make its debut next month.  The site would start as a DFS-based skin on iTEAM Network that uses a network of such skins in a way similar to, as well as likely derived from, the business model behind a lot of the world’s biggest online-poker networks.

Ari Engel Charges to lead in the 2015 WPT Canadian Spring Championship on Day 2 and the field is left with 45

World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship of 2015 partypoker.net had a quick Day 2 and after eight levels of play the field of 151 poker players was reduced to 45 and in the money. The event was conducted on Sunday at the Playground Poker Club situated in Montreal, Quebec.

Mike Leah was on the lead with big chip count and it took not much time to lose the advantage as he lost to Nicholas Palma with a huge pot against the opponent’s set of aces. The lost the rest when he shoved of a flush draw against the pocket aces of Kevin Singh and finally failing to make the cut. The lead was then grabbed by EricAfriat, the 2014 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown Champion; however the day was hogged by Ari Engel.

Engel has been knocking down minor leagues of poker for several years with wins from World Series of Poker Circuit and also a title from Heartland Poker Tour but has been unable to win a truly major event. On Day 4 of PokerStars EPT Main Event of Prague Vanessa Selbst is one of the leaders in 22 left

Fabio Sperling of Germany was the man captured at the end of the day 4 of European PokerStar Prague Main Event. Bagging 4,357,000 within five levels Sperling was still in the contention with 22 players.

Stephen Graner of USA was the second player with 3,228,00 chips. American fellow player Vanessa Selbst is going to enter by next day and likely Sam Grafteon to come in third. He is a UK based player but recently made his home at Prague. This popular player spent the day by taking up storm on his hand with 2,610,000.

On the day 4 there were 61 players and lost 30 out of it very quickly. The Pro of team PokerStars George Danzer has finished at 53rd level for 16,970 amounts after losing the flip of fours against Tamer Kamel the ace-queen. Elimination was slowed down little after fist flury of some exists and there was an average stack of around 80 big one but field got whittled down gradually to 22 by the end of day. Read more »
